Certification is one of the more reliable ways to filter between Chinese BESS suppliers from a distance, because it requires an independent third party to have actually verified a claim, rather than relying on a manufacturer’s own description of its quality standards. A buyer evaluating suppliers for an international project should look at certification on two separate levels: the company’s overall quality and safety management systems, and the specific product’s compliance marks for the destination market.

MPMC’s Company-Level Certifications

At the company level, MPMC holds ISO 9001:2015 certification (through AGEN Powerclub), operates a CNAS-accredited testing centre at its Jiangsu facility, and maintains ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management certification alongside ISO 14001 environmental management certification, with additional recognitions including WMI, ARCADIS, and ilac MRA. These company-level certifications speak to the consistency of MPMC’s manufacturing and testing processes across its full product range, not just a single product line.

Certification Level	Specific Certifications Held	What It Verifies
Company-level	ISO 9001:2015, CNAS-accredited testing centre, ISO 45001, ISO 14001	Consistent quality, safety, and environmental management systems
Product-level (general)	CE, TUV, SGS, UN38.3, BV (France Bureau Veritas), UL, Russian Customs Union	Independent third-party product safety and performance verification
Product-level (market-specific)	SABER (Saudi Arabia), China TLC, Nigeria SONCAP	Conformity assessment specific to individual import markets
HBD-E Series specific	CE, IP54, CEC (Australia)	Ingress protection and Australian small-scale market compliance
Battery transport	UN38.3	Mandatory international shipping certification for lithium battery products

Why Product-Level Certification Needs Checking Model by Model

A company-wide certification such as ISO 9001 confirms the manufacturer’s overall management systems are independently verified, but it does not by itself confirm that a specific model is certified for a specific destination market — this is why MPMC advises buyers to contact the company directly with their target market and product model to confirm the exact certification documentation available for that combination, rather than assuming every certification in the company’s overall portfolio automatically applies to every individual product. This model-by-model verification step is easy to skip when a company-level certification looks comprehensive on paper, but it is precisely the detail that customs authorities or grid operators in the destination market are likely to check first.

Using Certification as a Practical Filter Between Suppliers

A buyer comparing multiple Chinese BESS suppliers can reasonably request each one’s certification documentation for both the company level and the specific product and market in question, and treat a supplier who cannot produce this documentation promptly as a meaningfully weaker candidate regardless of how favourably their product specifications otherwise compare on paper. This is a particularly important check for a first international order, where the buyer’s own experience distinguishing a genuinely certified product from an uncertified one may still be developing, and a delay in producing basic documentation is itself a useful early signal about how the rest of the relationship is likely to go.

Where MPMC Sits Against Other Chinese BESS Suppliers on Certification

Some Chinese BESS suppliers hold a narrower certification set concentrated on their strongest export market, while MPMC’s documented certification portfolio spans company-level management systems alongside product-level marks covering Europe, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Nigeria, and China’s own domestic testing requirements. A buyer sourcing for an international project should ask any competing supplier for the same breadth of documentation MPMC provides, rather than accepting a single regional certification as evidence of global compliance readiness.

Questions to Ask a Chinese BESS Supplier About Certification

• Request both company-level and product-specific certification documentation, not just one or the other

• Confirm which certifications apply to the exact model and destination market for your project

• Verify UN38.3 battery transport certification is current and documented for international shipping

• Ask whether the manufacturer’s testing is done in-house or through an accredited third-party facility

• Confirm certification covers the specific series (HBD-A, HBD-E, or HBD-R) you intend to purchase

• Request updated certification documentation if your project timeline extends beyond a year or more
